It was a good thing I devoted a post to beautiful Bunny just before taking my summer "blog vacation," because this special three-legged girl was adopted last week! Long-time supporters of the ranch, Karl and Tia M. from the Spokane, Washington area, visited us earlier in the summer and fell in love with Bunny. They couldn't stop thinking about her, and asked if they could come back to adopt her. We can't think of a better home for this adorable cat than with Karl and Tia, so that was a definite "yes!"
Now, having said that, I will admit that Bunny was a hard one to let go. She was a real favorite of mine, and as I wrote in that earlier blog post, she is "one of the nicest, sweetest, and prettiest cats I've ever had the pleasure of knowing." But Karl and Tia will shower her with love and affection and provide anything Bunny will ever need, and I knew this was clearly the best thing for this little girl. Alayne took the photo above of Tia with Bunny just before they left the ranch.
Ironically, Bunny had come to us from the Spokane County animal control shelter, so she ended up going back to her hometown!
Judging from this photo that Tia sent, it would appear that Bunny is settling in just fine in her new home:
Thank you, Karl and Tia!
Three years ago today, I lost my blind horse Fart Blossom. She had an accident and we had to put her down. It was especially nice to get an e-mail from your ranch today. Hearing about Bunny made me feel better. So did a big hug from Miss LucyBelle, my beautiful blind Appaloosa that I got shortly after I lost FartBlossom. I hope to visit your ranch someday-I know I would love it there.. If you ever decide to adopt a person...

I have never been to the ranch and didn't know about it until Tia sent me an email. She sounded so happy and proud in her email about the adoption and I am sure Bunny feels the same way. I couldn't imagine a better place for Bunny to be than with Karl and Tia!

Welcome back, and I'm delighted for pretty Bunny! I can well understand your wanting to hold on (literally and otherwise) to that little sweetie, but what a neat picture her new mommy and daddy sent!

Congrats Bunny on a new forever home with Karl & Tia! Looks like you've settled in rather nicely without any problems.
Steve, I hope you enjoyed your vac. from the blog. You were missed, but I can understand you needing the time off. I hope it was restorative.

Welcome back from vacation!
We missed you SO very much!!
Days just weren't the same without learning how our friends at RDR were doing. Glad you're back!
I'm happy, but not entirely surprised, to see that Bunny has a new home. I'm sure it was hard to see her leave the ranch; I'm sorry for that.
An affectionate girl such as she will surely purr and cooo all day with human lovin's 24/7.
Thank you Karl and Tia for making a place in your home and heart for Bunny. Please send us pictures when you can. She's so precious!

I'm happy for Bunny, sad for your loss, sad too that I won't see Bunny on my next trip to Rolling Dog, and jealous that I couldn't adopt her myself (the house currently being at full capacity for cats). Here's hoping that every day in Bunny's life goes as well as the one you illustrated in Tia's photo.

What great news! I'm so happy for Bunny, Tia and Karl!
As Bunny is going back to her hometown, these verses by T.S. Eliot sound about right, don't they?:-)
"We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
Bunny's bottom picture could be one of Leo: they both miss their left front leg and have the same coloring.:-)
I wish Bunny and her new human parents a long and happy life together!

Hip Hip Hooray--The Blog is back!!
Fantastic news regarding lovely Bunny. I remember our visit early this summer and everybody said that Bunny would be adopted out by the end of the summer--you were so right! I love the picture of Bunny on her snuggle ball. The next two should be both Honey Girl and Herbie--they would bring joy to any home!! Thanks Tia and Karl for opening your heart and home to this sweet girl.

I'm glad you could come back from "vacation" with good news. And, selfishly, I'm REALLY glad you're back, Steve. While I'm sure that none of your regular readers begrudges you time off -- to the extent that a person gets time off from a 24/7 job -- but I'm equally sure that all of us are glad to be able to read your posts again.
