Alayne came home this evening from a day of running errands in Missoula, including taking blind Joey the Cocker to the groomer and herself to the hair stylist. Joey is one of those Cockers who grows thick, rug-like hair everywhere except on her back. She does have hair on her back, but it's very thin, has a completely different texture, and grows at a far slower rate than the rest of her hair. This always presents a dilemma on when exactly to take her to the groomer, since while 60% of her body is ready, the other 40% isn't. We thought initially this might be because of her thyroid condition, but we've had her regulated for a long time with medication, so we know that's not it. But in any case, she always looks quite spiffy once she gets clipped. (So does Alayne, for that matter.)
In this wacky world we now live in, it cost more to groom the dog ($45) than the woman ($35). Go figure.

One thing is apparent--Alayne you always are glowing--you truly are doing what you love and it shows!

Great pic of both! It would be nice if we could get the costs of heathcare down to what it is for animals to apply for humans!
Tobias & I need to be groomed as well!
Big hugs to all,
ginger, Tobias & Tlingit
