We woke up this morning to our first frost and a chilly 22 degrees -- that's Montana for you! To be fair, we are always one of the coldest spots around ... for example, Missoula was 33 degrees and Helena was 38 degrees, which is a typical difference in temperatures. We're routinely 10 to 15 degrees colder. I took this photo of our disabled dog building, Widget's House, from the front step of our house as the sun was coming up. Our first frosts always seem to occur the last week of August or the first week of September. The forecast for tonight is 27 degrees.
And this being Montana, that means winter can't be very far away!

It's hard to bid farewell to Summer but all the seasons you experience are so beautiful!
I'd trade some cool days for hot ones, especially now.

What a pretty picture!!!!! It is always sad when summer is on its way out, but I hope that you still get some warmer, frost-free days this fall. I am sure the animals don't mind some coolness!

I am so envious! Would you please send some of that nice cooler weather my way? I think it was 98F this afternoon at my house! I'm so tired of the heat! It will probably be another two months before I can turn the a/c off. Enjoy that nice, crisp weather for those of use that are still sweaty.
Hot hugs,
ginger & Tobias
