I took this photo last night of a rather unusual trio staring at Alayne, who was eating her dinner and trying to ignore the intense looks she was getting from the floor. That's Bailey on the left, blind (and plump) Callie in the foreground, and big blind Kenai in the back. Just because a dog is blind doesn't mean he or she can't stare you down for your dinner, you know!
An aside: In case you're wondering, the black plastic tub on the right is an equine salt block holder. We use it as a water bowl in the house for the dogs. It holds a lot of water, but more important, it is heavy and very stable, so it doesn't spill when a blind dog of Kenai's size -- 90 lbs -- walks into it. However, dogs will still walk away from the bowl with a mouthful of water and dribble it all over the floor ... hence the blue towel for mop-up duty!

What a scream! This was better than seeing a rainbow lit sky.
So glad you were able to capture the moment. :-)

I honestly don't know how you and Alayne can get anything done with all those cute faces around. I'd constantly be smooching their cuteness!

I love Kenai's tucked paws. My great dane Payton also tucks his front legs under him like this. So cute on these big kids.

That's such a fun photo! What a smart idea for the water holder. My best to each animal at the ranch today, Steve and Alayne, and employees and volunteers.

I can relate to dog dribble...why hasn't someone invented a sponge that's like a rug that goes under & around the area of a water bowl? Oops, I just leaked my idea for my fortune! Ha! Tobias is being very good about not even trying to get his bandage off of his poor foot. He's hobbled up the stairs again today & it almost broke my heart when I watched him come down & rest for a while on the landing. He only ate a milkbone & very little water since midnight Wednesday. He's my family, so I guess I'm being overly concerned, but I sure hope he can eat something tomorrow.
That sure is a cute picture! Poor Alayne, that has to be diffucult to eat with those expressions peering at her.
Hugs to all,
ginger & Tobias
