Having heard there was quite the kerfuffle about this basket in recent weeks, and a lot of attention on the blog about it, Widget decided she needed to check it out. Alayne caught the inspection on camera a couple of days ago.
She sniffed, treaded, pawed at it, and located the corners:

In the end, she didn't understand what the fuss was about, nor why any self-respecting large dog would squeeze herself into such a tight space. In general, she found it lacking.
"Me," Widget said, "I've got much better accommodations than this."
Merry Christmas Ms. Widge! You're looking good! I always think of the princess and the pea when I see you... You're a princess for sure!

hahaha... 'kerfuffle' is a keeper with me too!! will you keep us posted where Widget goes to next, it must be somewhere special!
this procedure of checking things out and deciding 'nah' I once witnessed with my mother's cat. the other one was like Maru, give him a box or a bag and he's in it with a heavenly expression on his face - even if only one paw fits. so, we both saw the no-box-cat get into one, sit down... ponder a bit and get out. in ALL the years afterwards, we never, ever saw him close to a box again. no good for him!

Hi Widget, long time no see! I love how she's giving the basket the total quality control inspection but finds it sorely lacking for the small dog community. At least the big dogs won't have any competition!
And I have to say I busted up laughing at the word "kerfuffle". I'm going to have to use that :)
