Pistol magazine, a "custom culture lifestyle" publication from California, has a wonderful two-page feature story on the farm in their latest issue. (Note this magazine has nothing to do with firearms and its target audience is primarily the artistic community.) The story is based on an interview I did with the editor a few months ago, and she kindly gave us permission to "clip" the piece from the new issue and post it here. You can read the first page of the article above by clicking on the image for a larger version.
Here's page two, which should also pop up in a larger version for easier reading:
Final Contest of The Year -- Please Vote for the Farm!
The latest Shelter Challenge started Monday, October 8 and ends at midnight on December 16. Grand prize in this round is $5,000, plus $1,000 for weekly winners and $1,000 for state winners. There are also other categories ... please see the Shelter Challenge website for details.
*** You will find us listed as Rolling Dog Farm. The state is NH for New Hampshire. ***
Please remember, you can vote every day ... consider bookmarking the voting page to make it easy.
We just won $1,000 as a weekly winner in the last contest, and thousands more in the previous contests. The Shelter Challenge really does bring in a lot of money for the animals here!
You can vote in the Shelter Challenge here.
Thank you for your votes!

Yes, a wonderful article, new exposure, and hopefully new admirers (how could they not?). Your message and work are incredibly powerful. Thanks again for the inspiration.

Hey thanks for the answer Steve. I thought I recognized Patti and Cedar but thought the other one was Brody. I miss them all but am glad to have read stories about their stay at Rolling Dog. Reading your blog has been a daily joy for several years now. My how time does fly !!

Lynn, that photo was taken in 2010 and shows Patti, Cedar and Travis. If the photo looks a little "off," it's because the magazine's graphics people flipped it so it's actually reversed. Must have been to accommodate the headline. Took me a few moments to figure out why it didn't look right!
Barbara, congrats on your new little girl -- that's wonderful!

Wonderful article about a wonderful animal rescue group. Far from wholesome magazine....but if it gets RDF more donors, more power to you.
Keep voting.........I am.

If only they knew how much you do to save money, $477,000 would sound like a spit in the bucket. Actually, for the number of animals you have, their veterinary needs, it isn't a lot.
The article was fascinating.

What a wonderful article and so well deserved. Wanted to let you all know that I've adopted a new little IVDD dachshund. Her name is Joie. We just brought her home on Saturday. She flew from Vancouver, WA to WI!! We are head over heels in love with her already. If you want to read more about her, feel free to check out my blog/website, www.joyfulpaws.com
