Some dogs seem to have it made. As in three-legged Ella, who Paul and Jennifer M. adopted from us in 2010. Jennifer sent this photo to me about a week ago, saying "This is what I woke up to this morning. Although she was sleeping, snoring AND drooling....she did open her eyes as the flash went off."
I responded to Jennifer, saying "Now, I have to ask ... doesn't that man have his arms around the wrong girl? What's wrong with this picture???"
And I used to think Oscar the miniature Dachshund took up a lot of space in bed.
I just hope the thread-count in those sheets is high enough for Ella's standards.
Ella ... sheesh!
P.S. Yes, Jennifer and Paul gave me permission to post this!

I've just come back from Budapest (where I was off-line for a week) and I'm simply overjoyed at seeing Ella (who looks exactly like my beloved Camilla, whom I lost two years ago) so relaxed and content in her forever home!
Thank you so much, Paul & Jennifer, for sharing such a sweet photo with all of us (not to mention for loving Ella so dearly).

All dogs should be so fortunate!

What a hard life! Don't let your crew see this, or they'll start agitating for the same treatment.

Ella Bella!! Believe it or not I was thinking of her just the other day. Weird.
Thanks for the update. I hope Gabe is doing well also.

Excellent photo! Ella, you have got it made!!!! Great job in training your human! My dalmatian is always on the bed with me.... and occasionally so are the 2 dachshunds. Snuggle time is the best!

She HAS TO share a pillow, there isn't one for her in the middle spot in the bed. What an adorable picture. If that isn't the picture of contentment, on both parts, what is.

This is the sweetest picture and such a great next chapter of her story for Ella!! Yup, I share my bed with 'everybody' furry around the house and it has never been more comfy ;-)

I too remember when Ella was scared and not sure about people, Steve and Alayne helped her trust again with their kindness and patience and Paul and Jennifer sure sealed the deal that life can be wonderful and always will be for this sweet girl! Yay for everyone, especially Ella!

One of the great joys in life is spoiling a dog. So, it's hard to say in this picture who is getting the most TLC. Human and dog, and unbeatable combination!!
Thanks for sharing this wonderful scene.

It may have taken her a while, but Ella finally got her people trained properly! Hope they all enjoy many more happy years of love and snuggles.

Yes! Hooray, Ella....the perfect place for this precious girl.
Thank you for giving her the chance to make it there! Here's where you know all your hard work and emotional struggles are all worth it!

I have to laugh because I had this very same scenario this morning (Sunday), except I was the one in bed. I am dog sitting and Zoey just loves to get in bed with me. The picture above pretty much shows exactly how I found myself when I woke up!
My own dogs tend to want their own space on the bed. Needless to say, there isn't much room for me :)
It's so wonderful to see Ella so happy and so obviously loved. Thanks for sharing!

I am in LOVE with this picture! And I'm sure Jennifer doesn't mind. :O) Right, Jennifer?!?!??! Thank you for sharing...and I'm going to go snuggle with my own pup right now.

OK, it's time for the "Puppies in Paradise" movie starring Ella and Gabe. I'm so glad someone was as sucessful as we were with the crate training thing.......

I clicked on the picture and it is just adorable to see Ella resting so peacefully on her pillow....thank you to Paul, Jennifer and Gabe for sending.

Try to remember when Ella was a physically and emotionally scarred dog, abused and in pain, scared of her own shadow. This picture is what it's all about. Ella, you done good! Say hello to Gabe, too!
