Last week I posted some photos of blind Austin doing his usual trick of hiding at bed time by lying in a deep, grass-covered hole in our yard. Well, I hitched up the big mower to the tractor a few days ago and started cutting the pasture grass around the house.
This weekend Austin thought he would give his hideout another try, but alas, this time it was hard to miss the Beagle-in-the-hole. Drat, foiled again.

Wow .. still No. 3! Please keep voting -- thank you!

Wow, that look could melt butter! Austin is not happy you have decided to cut the grass. But, don't worry little Austin your hole will be back in just a few days. You can count on grass growing really fast this time of year!

Can't blame a dog for trying! Many times a day, I wish I had a little "hidey-hole" myself.....

Is that typical beagle behavior or just Austin's unique behavior?

Hello there! I stumbled across you guys a few weeks ago and have since spent time reading the blog back from the beginning. Ok, so it really only took me a couple days to read the whole thing because I couldn't stop. It was like crack. Or studying with pizza at three am.
Anyhoo, I was just wondering if anyone had ever approached you to do a reality show? With so many different ones on Animal Planet and National Geographic I would have thought you guys would be ringers! I believe there is little doubt I would watch:)

You're definitely getting the stink eye in the second photo!
He knows you cut the grass and his hiding hole is gone. Ah though, summer produces fast growing grass my little beagle grasshopper...let's try this hiding hole again soon. ; )

A dog's hole is his castle.

Maybe you should throw a blankee out there. Breakfast, lunch and dinner in bed would probably be nice too!
