Alayne was looking for blind Austin yesterday evening to put him up for the night in Kelly's Cottage, but there was no Austin to be found. Unfortunately for him, Alayne remembered this routine of his from last summer and knew exactly where to find him -- hiding in the tall grass near a pine in our yard. Sure enough, there he was! Close up, and with the bright light of the flash, you can tell a Beagle is inside all that grass.
But from a few feet away, here's what it looked like:
When Austin starts doing this, I know it's time to hook up the mower to the tractor and begin cutting the pasture grass around the house!

Don't forget, you can vote every day for us in The Animal Rescue Site/PetFinder's Shelter Challenge.
Enter
"Rolling Dog Ranch" and our state postal code, MT for Montana,

Wow .. still No. 3! Please keep voting -- thank you!

You gotta love a blind dog you can't see. That's great.
As for Rolling Dog Ranch's rankings, it's still #3.
When you go to the results page, the first thing you see is Rolling Dog Ranch at #4 in the Weekly Winners column.
If you scroll down to the purple box which shows the daily rankings, Rolling Dog Ranch is #3 and has been for awhile. But let's all keep voting, it would be great to get to #2!

That's very odd, about RDR falling to #4. When I vote, it shows RDR at #3. It didn't show #4 until I clicked on the results button. :-( Guess we better get voting more!

Good thing you found Austin's spot last year, I couldn't find him until you showed the close up!
So, is he really hiding or simply reminding you to cut the grass? Either way, brillian job Austin!

Thinking of getting a 3 legged beagle myself.

Come on, everybody! As they say on Cute Overload: Vote, vote, vote, like a stoat! Get those votes out there. Vote early, vote often. I'm doing my two votes a day thanks to Steve's reminders.
Think of all the holes they can dig for the dogs to hide in with the money they win!!!!

Oooh, I hope the grass gets checked for little ones before the mower starts out! :)
Love the influx of cute posts this week!!

What a memory & such a funny little guy! Steve, you have always wanted the dogs to find a job to do to help out instead of napping all day. Well, Austin has been able to combine the two. He is "Supervisor of Grass Cutting Reminders" & can nap at the same time! Genius, I tell you, just genius!

I assume you know but just haven't changed the blurb at the end of your posts...RDR has been back in the #4 position for at least a week. I'm thinking people might be complacent about voting, if they think you're still #3. We don't want that, do we!
