Just about a month ago when we posted deaf Stuart's adoption on the blog. At the time, we included a brief update from his new Dad and Mom, Dan and Cheryl W., who said that their other newly adopted Beagle, Daisy, couldn't stand to be separated from Stuart -- and that bond had developed in, oh, about 12 hours.
Well, Dan and Cheryl kindly sent us another update this past weekend, along with the photo above. That's Stuart in the back and Daisy up front.
Dan and Cheryl wrote:
"Just thought we'd send you an update on Stuart. As you can see from the attached photo, he has made himself quite at home. He's adopted us and Daisy and is such a hoot to be around. You were right when you called him a 'happy little guy'..... he is always ready for the next excitement. I can't head for the door that Stuart isn't right beside me ready to go for a ride. We love him and are so happy we were able to make him a part of our family. Thanks again for all you guys do...."
Apparently Stuart has developed a bit more modesty with his new family, because back here at the ranch, this is how he used to sleep in our living room:

What an adorable picture of the "Love Beagles." Stuart realized in order not to sleep alone anymore he can't hog the whole chair! I'm so happy to hear Stuart found his way into such a loving & happy homelife.
I admire RDR for all you do but also for allowing the little furry friends that you fall in love with to leave. I know it must be hard but knowing they are going to be in a place where they get so much love & attention has to make it easier. plus as I'm sure you realize, it also allows room for another little friend to move in that needs RDR's special care.

That picture is completely adorable... I hope we continue to get updates on Stuart! Dan and Cheryl should start their own blog about the two lovebirds!

Actually, it looks like Stuart is being quite considerate in making room for his new love instead of hogging the whole chair for himself. So glad you post updates from the rescued families!!

HA - Stuart's full-pleasure mode of sleeping cracked me up. I guess Daisy like those uninhibited types! Thanks for the great story and photos. Love and laughter to you and the fur babies. :)

Yeah, well, back then he was just a happy bachelor guy and it didn't matter 'cause no one else cared, either. Now, he has a girlfriend, and things are just *different.*
Once again, another RDR alum finds a home where his guardians understand and support the manner in which he has always deserved to be accustomed.

I don't think modesty has anything to do with his sleeping habits - of course a guy has to be on his best behaviour in front of a new lady-friend ... at first!
Always love a happy ending. Thank you for all the stories on this blog - it always makes my day. BTW, we are freezing, the winter is well and truly here! Enjoy the sunshine.

Dear Steve & Alayne, isn't it great to receive such happy updates from the adopters of RDR alumni?
It must be terribly hard for you to let them go (not to mention how much you must be missing them), but knowing that they're now living in loving homes is quite a thrill, isn't it?
God bless you all.
