Too Cute Twosome

Oliver_and_twist_1

That's Oliver and Twist, the new Dachshund arrivals, enjoying some snuggle time together.  These two guys are closely bonded with each other, and it's really cute to see how often they're looking to see where the other one is.  Once out of quarantine, they moved right in -- they may not have had much human contact in their previous life, but that didn't stop them from making themselves at home.

When we let them out of the isolation cottage and brought them to the house, we opened the back door and they scurried in.  Well, Oliver (the tan one) actually hopped in and Twist -- despite the rear leg that sticks out -- zoomed in.  When he wants to move fast, he just lifts that leg up and gets it out of the way.  But he does use it when he wants to turn, and he will put weight on it when standing still.  These two characters bring the Dachshund pack now up to seven.

And if you thought they were adorable in that photo, here's another one I took a few moments later:

Dachshund togetherness, huh?

I send all your dachel posts to my friend (who has two dachels himself) and he always tells me how much it brightens up his day.

Too adorable for words.

Those doxies are so precious! I have a rescued doxie as well. She was a breeder at a puppy mill. One of her hind legs is a little "limpy"--she lifts it out of the way when she wants to run fast. We think she might have been injured when being yanked out of her puppy mill cage. We're so glad that she came into our lives...that we've been given the opportunity to give her a good life. What you do is so wonderful...

ACK! They are so cute!!!!!

Ohhh, be still my heart! As a dachsie and dane household, I LOVE seeing pictures of the dachsies (and Blanca). Again, thanks for all you do for all the deserving animals!

What precious faces on these cuties! Loved the photos!!

I love the Dachshunds, just a few more and you will have as many as I do. They are totally bonded and it is great you are keeping them together, Thank you for all your great work, I look forward to reading your blog every day, I am so glad people like you are here to help them.

Oh, yeah! As a Dachshund owner, I especially love your stories about the little ones. Welcome to Montana, little Oliver & Twist!

Oh man, I just fell in love. Are they cute or what?

I don't know what is more precious........their photos or their names !! :)

ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS.
Bless you for being their angels..

xo,
Kim

They are indeed dear ones. My "nephew doxie" is a "double dapple", kind of like Twist. You've got just about every coat variety there is now! Doxie's seem to have an embedded homing device for blankets, don' they. Welcome to the "big house" Oliver & Twist!

Welcome to RDR (aka "PlanetDachshund"), Oliver and Twist! What a darling pair you make!

Hi Steve and Alayne.

All I can say is "just beautiful." Bless your hearts for giving these guys a great home and chance to live a great life there.

Jim and Diane

Oliver and Twist are truly adorable and isn't everyone lucky to see how happy there are at your sanctuary?!

Please don't ever adopt them out separately.
Hugs to all of you!

Oh, those melting eyes in the first picture! The world...you only want the world? Okay, here it is!
The shots you got are precious. I'm glad their scooting around and adjusted well.

OMG, Oliver & Twist are indeed too cute for words! Please give them a HUGE hug from me, will you? I wish them a long, healthy and happy life at RDR.

Seven you say. Well you just have to post a pic of the "Magnificent Seven" at some stage please. :)

awwwwww.... thats sooo sweet!

If a photo contest requests pictures of the most adorable twosome, this one is sure to win!

I foster a pair of dachshunds before and they were also bonded like this. I understand that is common in the breed. Mine slept under the covers curled up like ying and yang. Yeah I know I did let them burrow in my bed, but once they were out they didn't move until morning.

Oh my gosh, this just sends the cute-o-meter right off the charts!! You should have heard the high-pitched cute noises that came out of my mouth when I saw there. And I'm a cat person!

Are you guys sure you don't want to do a calendar or something, with all these pics? You'd raise a ton of money!

That's just too adorable! Thank you so much for taking them in! Is Oliver a long-haired or a wire-haired dachshund?

Doxies Rule!
