At the risk of "overexposing" Widget on the blog, I thought this one was worth sharing. Regular blog readers know Widget is the professional sleeping hound, and a master of finding unique and odd ways to catch a few zzzz's. (Well, many zzzz's.)
So yesterday afternoon, there she was in the living room, asleep in this rather unusual configuration. Now, if that were me, I think my neck would get a kink in it, but she slept like this for hours. I thought she was still sound asleep while I was taking her photo, because I kept clicking away and she never stirred. And looks can be deceiving, as they say, because she often sleeps with her eyes open. (Hey, when you're blind and your eyes bulge, why bother closing them?)
But as I stepped around to the left side of the chair to look at her face, I saw her right eye moving around, tracking back and forth while staring up at the ceiling ... so the little scamp was very much wide awake by this point and aware of what I was doing. But that wasn't enough to cause her to get up or change position. No, sir. She was settled in for the afternoon, and she stayed that way.

Steve! She's getting so fat! She can sleep like that because she's got all that padding! She really is a riot. If I knew then what I know now about blind dogs and beagles, I totally would have kept her! But she needs to be with you to show Willie what it's all about.

OUCH. I need a massage just looking at that picture. That dog needs a human touch massage chair.

Widget, you certainly look like you're living up to your reputation of being a professional sleeper! You are cute and you rule!!!

Widget's a professional model. She knows when she's supposed to hold still for the camera.
If anyone doubts that disabled animals can live happy lives, you disprove those doubts every day with this wonderful blog. Thank you, Steve and Alayne, for your compassion and hard work, giving these guys a chance.

What a camera hound! Don't you get it? That's a lounge chair, at least for her! Thanks for the chuckles.
Hugs,
ginger & Tobias

My gosh, her positions are just wild; and to stay in them for hours, well, you just have to have a Widget type body to make it all work!

Overexposing Widget? NO! As far as I'm concerned, you could open a second blog just for her.
