I was walking out of my office yesterday and heard this odd sound coming from behind the dining table. I walked over to investigate and found blind Willie, a recent arrival, sound asleep on the cot with blind Kenai, our big black Lab. Willie's head was perched on Kenai's back, and every time Kenai breathed in and out, Willie's head would go up and down ... and he would snore as he did so. Thus the snoring had this weird rising and falling cadence to it.
I hurried back to the office to get the camera and returned to get this photo. As soon as I turned the camera on and pressed the shutter, the flash opened up with a <ping!> sound, which woke Willie up. That's why he's looking in my direction. But once I got my shots and walked away, he went back to sleep ... fortunately this time without the snoring!

What a precious photo! Steve, I've got to hand it to you for getting those "Kodak Moments". Willie is fitting in nicely with the veterans of the RDR! Especially for someone who didn't want to share a bed at first.
Hugs to all,
ginger & Tobias

Too cute for words! You do such a terrific job of describing the scene, I feel as if I'm there with you, hearing the rise-and-fall snores. I love your blog because it transports me right into the middle of RDR. Thank you, Steve, for the blog and, of course, for Alayne's and your wonderful dedication to the critters.

How cute!! Willie is probably doing a sleeping study; the bigger the sleeping partner the louder you snore! It's a successful test!
