Sammy: A Note Of Thanks

Alayne and I wanted to say how deeply touched we were by all the heartfelt condolences and kind thoughts so many people posted about Sammy's passing on Friday.  The comments were very moving and really struck a chord with us.  We are so grateful for all the emotional support.  It meant a lot.  Thank you.

Hi, Steve.

I caught up on your blog messages and was saddened to hear of Sammy's passing. The day Janet and I visited, you told us of his regimen and how the automated feeder helped.

I had a dwarf Golden Retriever--a little dog with a big dog's appetite who didn't like to retrieve. His owner, who raises Goldens, gave him to me. Puff was the sweetest dog. He had an enlarged heart that gave out when he was only four. I miss him still. I also lost Moon Shadow recently, my 15-year-old black kitty who was the Queen of Sheba in a former life. I'm glad Cinder has settled in.

You and Alayne, your helpers and all your wonderful animals are in my thoughts and prayers.
